Mr. James Barry Wright is a licensed guard and security manager with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.  During his career, Mr. Wright has worked with the United States Secret Service, the United States Department of State – Bureau of Diplomatic Security, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, in protective details. He is a 31-year public service official, with 23 years spent serving in various supervisory and management levels with two local law enforcement agencies. Mr. Wright’s law enforcement career culminated in him being appointed as chief of police for a municipality. Before his retirement from government service, Mr. Wright spent the last 8 years of his career as an administrator for Miami-Dade Water & Sewer (the 6th largest public utility company in the Nation), overseeing a $16 million-dollar security budget, four security firms and 250 contracted security guards for compliance and performance.

Mr. Wright holds both Bachelor and Master degrees in Public Administration from Barry University – Miami Shores, Florida. He has extensive and varied experience in risk mitigation, premises liability, negligent security, law enforcement operations, and planning, community and media relations, security planning, and crisis management. He is a Certified Close-in Protection Specialist through the MODAD Group – Columbia, MD; Certified Anti-Terrorist Specialist through the Anti-Terrorist Accreditation Board – Alexandria, VA; and matriculated through the Front Right Seat Leadership Academy – Washington, D.C. Mr. Wright is also a member of the Domestic Estate Manager’s Association – South Florida Chapter, an organization comprised of private-industry personnel.
